A football game you win with the playbook.
Gridiron Idle has 19 plays, each a permanent upgrade with a real football name. Ground and Pound makes your backs faster both ways; Air It Out doubles your quarterbacks' wind-up. Which you buy first is the strategy.

How to think about it
Fix the slowest link first.
Your offense is a chain: snap, carry, score, return the ball. A play only helps if it speeds up the link that is holding you back.
- Backs waiting at the line? Snaps are the problem. Hurry-Up and No-Huddle Passing bring snaps sooner; Wildcat lets an idle back take a ball straight from the rack.
- Balls piling up in the end zone? Returns are the problem. Sideline Crew makes ball boys faster.
- Everyone busy, balls moving? Now speed pays: Inside Zone, Ground and Pound, Air It Out, and Home-Field Advantage for more cash per score.
- Every ball already in play? Ball Rotation gives you room for eight more.

FAQ
Questions people ask
Is there a football playbook game on mobile?
Gridiron Idle has a Playbook of 19 plays, each a permanent upgrade named after a real football idea: Hurry-Up, Inside Zone, Trap, Wildcat, Quick Slant, Four Verticals, Air It Out and more. Buying one changes how your offense actually runs on the field.
Is there a football strategy game that is easy to learn?
Gridiron Idle has one rule: find what is slowing your offense down and fix it. The field shows you (idle players, stuck balls), and every shop card says what a hire would add right now.
Is there a play-calling game for mobile?
Not play-by-play calling. In Gridiron Idle you choose your offense's identity by buying plays: go ground and pound with faster backs, air it out with faster receivers and quarterbacks, or spread the money across both.
Should I go run or pass first?
The run game comes first because quarterbacks and receivers only go on sale at High School. Once they arrive, the Air Raid plays make them far faster. Most offenses end up using both.
How many plays are in the Playbook?
19 plays across four groups: Fundamentals (6), Ground and Pound (5), Air Raid (6), Pro Style (2). Plays unlock as you move up levels, and some need another play first.
